Empowering Future-Ready Learners

Technology at Arndell is seamlessly integrated into learning from Kindergarten through to Year 12, supporting students to connect, create, collaborate and communicate in meaningful ways.

Across all year levels, technology enhances learning experiences while building the digital fluency students need for the future.

Connected Learning, Every Day

Technology is embedded across all year levels, enhancing teaching and learning through purposeful, real-world application.

Every classroom is equipped with interactive smart screens, enabling dynamic teaching and collaborative, student-centred learning experiences.

Our 1:1 device program (included in College fees) ensures every student has the right tool at the right stage of learning:

  • K–4: iPads to build foundational skills and creativity
  • Years 5–12: Laptops to support subject-specific learning and senior academic pathways

This program is fully supported through device provision, learning software, and dedicated onsite technical support, ensuring a seamless and reliable learning experience for all students.

Recently refurbished learning spaces also include hearing augmentation systems, strengthening accessibility and ensuring an inclusive learning environment for students.

Learning Platforms and Systems

Our digital platforms ensure learning is visible, connected and accessible for students, staff and families.

Junior School

In the Junior School, students use Seesaw, a digital learning portfolio that captures and shares classroom learning in real time. It provides a meaningful window for families into their child’s progress, growth and achievements, strengthening the home–school partnership.

In Years 5 and 6, students are progressively introduced to Canvas, supporting a smooth and confident transition into Secondary School. This ensures students are familiar with key digital tools and learning expectations before entering more independent learning environments.

Secondary School

In the Secondary School, students use Canvas, a comprehensive learning management system that supports independent and structured learning. Through Canvas, students can:

  • Access subject materials and resources
  • Participate in class discussions and forums
  • Maintain learning journals
  • View course outlines and assessment schedules
  • Complete online tests and submissions
  • Access the library catalogue and research databases
  • Engage in online or blended learning when required

Canvas supports students to develop organisation, responsibility and digital independence as they progress through their schooling.

Parent Engagement & Communication

We believe strong partnerships with families are essential to student success.

Parents are supported through both the Online Parent Portal and the College App, which provide a centralised and accessible communication hub. Through these platforms, families can:

  • Receive College updates and announcements
  • Submit and manage student absences
  • Access excursion and event information
  • View assessment results and tasks
  • Stay informed about student wellbeing updates
  • Access academic reports and progress information

These tools ensure families remain informed, connected and engaged in their child’s learning journey.

Learning with Purpose-Built Technology

Students have access to a wide range of technologies that support innovation, creativity and problem-solving, including:

  • Robotics systems (Lego EV3, Spike Prime, mBots, BeeBots)
  • Coding and programming platforms
  • Circuitry and prototyping tools such as Makey Makey and BBC Micro:bit
  • 3D CAD design software and 3D printing technologies

These tools are embedded into classroom learning and extension programs, encouraging students to experiment, design and solve real-world problems.

Technological & Applied Studies (TAS): Learning by Doing

Our TAS program connects theory with real-world application through hands-on, practical learning experiences. Students are immersed in authentic projects that develop creativity, problem-solving and technical skills across a range of specialist learning environments.

Authentic, Real-World Learning

Students engage in meaningful, applied learning through our Agriculture Farm, where they develop skills in animal care, sustainable agricultural practices and production systems. They also have the opportunity to participate in major agricultural shows across Sydney, applying their learning in real-world contexts.

Specialist Facilities

Students learn in industry-standard spaces designed to inspire innovation and practical skill development, including:

  • Agriculture Farm with hands-on animal and production learning
  • Food Technology kitchens, including a commercial-grade kitchen
  • Industrial Technology – Timber workshops
  • Textiles studios for design and production
  • ICT and Design Studio spaces featuring laser cutters, 3D printers and CAD software

These facilities enable students to design, build, create and refine solutions using industry-relevant tools and processes.

Design Thinking & Future Skills

Across all TAS and technology learning, students are guided through the Design Thinking process, where they learn to:

  • Empathise with real-world needs
  • Define problems clearly
  • Develop and prototype solutions
  • Test, refine and improve their designs

This approach builds capability in the 4Cs: Communication, Collaboration, Creativity and Critical Thinking, equipping students with practical skills and a future-ready mindset.

Creative and Performing Arts Technology

Technology also plays a key role in the Creative and Performing Arts at Arndell.

Students have access to:

  • Specialist Music rooms designed for composition, rehearsal and performance
  • A 500-seat auditorium equipped with professional lighting, sound and staging systems

These facilities enable students to rehearse, perform and produce high-quality creative work in authentic performance environments.

Expert Onsite Support

To ensure technology enhances learning without barriers, the College employs two, full-time specialist ICT staff onsite.

This dedicated team supports:

  • Students in the classroom and learning spaces
  • Staff with teaching and curriculum technology integration
  • Parents with device, platform and access support

This ensures reliable, responsive assistance and a smooth digital learning experience across the College.

The ICT team are available Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:00pm and can be contacted via the College office on 02 4572 3633.
