Senior School Pastoral Care
Pastoral Care at Arndell encompasses the spiritual, academic, social, emotional and physical wellbeing of all students. Its role in the College cannot be overstated as it is the keystone in our Christian outreach to our community.
The welfare of all students enables us to blend both personal support and discipline in a safe and caring environment. Arndell Anglican College accomplishes this through the undertaking of all key players in the College community namely, The College Council, The Headmaster, The Executive, Middle Management, Staff, Parents, Student Leaders and Students, through a well defined pastoral care programme.
The Pastoral Care programme is accentuated through our House system and within each House the six Homerooms, each vertically structured, enable students to interact across years and to enhance a feeling that they have a place, not only within the year group but also within the senior school.
The package of welfare incorporates a Non Compliance policy. The policy, in its tone, has been constructed to restore the balance of social justice. At its core is the growth of the individual within a community enabling dealings with students to be a positive experience. Part of the Non Compliance policy incorporates Anti Bullying with a series of well defined paths and goals for not only the victim but also the bully.
Arndell has developed in the Senior School a Level System which tracks and mentors, through the Homeroom Tutors, The Head of House and The Head of Senior School, student behaviour issues.
At each point in the process communication with parents is essential to ensure a three way resolution of potential issues.
Pastoral Care at Arndell reflects true Gospel values and that through the teachings of Jesus Christ our student can grow to a better understanding of their responsibilities.
