Our technology helps to educate students, keeps our parents very informed and helps to administer the College.
The technology is state of the art, and is implemented and maintained by talented I.T. staff.
Technology for Parents
The Arndell "Parent Portal" enables parents to track their children's progress. It provides such features as:
- Attendance
- Assessment Results
- Current and Upcoming Assessment Task Events
- Student Welfare - Awards & Discipline
- Timetable Lookup
- Academic Reports - Past and Present
- Sickbay Visits & Medication Administration Summaries

All College newsletters and news items are listed on this website. The Arndell community can subscribe to have news
items delivered directly to their email inboxes. An RSS feed is also provided. Arndell's College "Calendar of Events" is listed
on this site, so that the community can stay well informed of all happenings.
Technology for Educating our Students
Arndell has developed its own feature rich online "Learning Portal". The portal has many features (some of which are yet to be activated and used), some are not listed, and include:
- Assessment task management - including student submission and notification
- Course and class document libraries (for resources)
- Course and class discussion forums
- Course and class online learning journals
- Online testing
- Timetable access
- Student E-Mail
- Personal and group calendaring
We have begun to equip some of our class rooms with "Smart Boards" and other Audio Visual and multimedia equipment.
So far we have achieved this in 16 class rooms. The "Smart Boards" enable us to:
- Engage our pupils in active learning
- Support different learning styles
- Allow our students (through the learning portal) to review lesson content developed using the boards
The College has numerous subscriptions to the latest software packages and online databases. Some key features are:
- Digital networked video delivery (to all computers in the school)
- Full access to information on all library resources
- Online database subscriptions
- Full access to the Microsoft Office and Adobe suite of products
- Music authoring software
- CAD software
- Specialist subject software
The College also provides access to a multitude of computer hardware. We have a total of 11 computer labs, and such facilities include:
- 8 General purpose computing labs
- 3 Specialist computer labs (Graphics/CAD, Software, Music)
- Other devices such as graphics tablets, cameras, scanners
Technology for Assisting our Staff
All our academic staff members are equipped with laptop computers. The computers enable our staff to:
- Have access to, and enter information on, students at their fingertips
- Allow very efficient communication in the College
- Provide interactive and engaging lessons to their students
- Allow extremely efficient College administration
