Junior School
The Junior School at Arndell Anglican College currently caters for a student population of approximately three hundred and seventy five children in fourteen classes, all grades K-6 being double streamed. We offer a caring and comprehensive education with a pervasive Christian emphasis.
A carefully selected and talented teaching staff present lessons in an exciting and motivating manner, creating a learning environment that not only caters for the wide range of abilities within any classroom, but also helps to create a family atmosphere with firm but fair discipline. Both in and out of the classroom students are encouraged to act in a thoughtful and caring fashion towards their peers.
The Learning Support Department caters for those children at the two extremes of the academic continuum, with individual, small group and in-class assistance available. Specialist teachers also contribute in the areas of L.O.T.E. (Languages Other Than English), Music, Library and Christian Education. Additionally, all staff are involved an extensive co-curricular programme, in which subjects and activities such as art and craft, ceramics, chess, choir, claywork, Crusaders, music, netball, skipping (Jump Rope for Heart) and Writer’s Club are available to students.
Computers as a tool for learning Technology is also an important emphasis, with students having access to computers in three computer laboratories (one per stage), in classrooms and the Junior School Library. Students are encouraged to use a computer as a tool which is integrated into all of the subject areas and not simply as a diversion.
The intellectual, the physical and the spiritual are all important in the development of a well-rounded individual. The Junior School at Arndell offers an education that caters for the whole child preparing them to face the uncertainties and challenges of the future.
