The School motto is “Learning Through Christ.” We believe in Christ’s physical death and physical resurrection. In the resurrected state Jesus cannot die physically again and we believe that Christ is the first of many to be raised to eternity.

We believe that Christ died on the cross and bore the wrath of God, so that ordinary people could receive forgiveness and the gift of eternal life. With this in mind our concern is to stimulate the students mentally, extend them physically and challenge them spiritually.

We believe that through Christ’s efforts God can and will inspire a student to become the best possible person he/she can be. For a person to develop and reach their maximum potential, it is imperative that they understand the Creator’s intentions for life and this understanding is gained through Christ.

What is Christian Living About?

The Lord Jesus has a deep interest in and concern for all Arndell students. The Lord Jesus longs for them to know Him and to understand how He can guarantee their place in eternity through what He has done, in His life, death and resurrection, on their behalf.

By His Holy Spirit, Jesus can inspire students to reach their full potential. It is our aim to teach the truth and we believe that all truth belongs to Christ. During years 7-10 students thoroughly study the necessary components of the Personal Development and Health studies from a Christian prospective.

This key learning area of the NSW Board of Studies is a crucial part of the CL program and is seen as a necessary part of the students’ study regime, so that they can gain academic excellence. By studying the required elements and remaining true to the Christian ethos, we believe our CL program provides an excellent foundation for a healthy and productive lifestyle. We aim to create well balanced students by giving a solid grounding in Christian principles as taught in the Bible.

The Christian Education/Living programme aim is to help students by giving them as much information and as many experiences as possible: compulsory classes, camps, chapel and, for those who volunteer, travel abroad to another country, to gain an appreciation of another culture.

Due to the conflict in Sri Lanka, our overseas trip was cancelled in 2006 and we ended up going to the Northern Territory and visiting some aboriginal communities. This trip was a big success and we are planning a similar trip for 2007.

In their classes students study a broad range of topics that help then to discover who they are, to appreciate people and their uniqueness, and to understand the importance of their image and sexuality, risky behaviours such as the danger of drugs and alcohol, major religions of the world, Church History and Philosophy.

Topics include: science versus God, themes in John’s Gospel, Mark’s Gospel and Old Testament accounts of creation, a character study on Joseph and King David, and a look at Ecclesiastes. Students are encouraged to compare secular and atheistic views on these topics with the Bible and what God’s Word says about them.

The purpose of being educated and learning about the Lord Jesus Christ is so that future generations can take their place in society. We pray and ask God to enrich each student’s life in such a way that they will desire to serve and use any given gift to bring glory to God and to bring benefits to humanity.

We hope many students end up seeking to change the world for the better. We pray that they may find themselves in challenging places, bringing hope and a future to others they meet, whether in their future studies, travels or employment.

Through understanding the generosity of God in Christ, we hope students will live for Christ and want to be generous with their time, with their skills and with their earnings.
