The semester is now well underway and seemingly heading on a good course.
A very nautical theme commensurate with our 3 swimming carnivals that have taken place. Interestingly the Infants carnival was land based and provided the students with a huge number of activities related to water.
The Junior and Senior carnivals organised by Mrs. Cornick - sports co-ordinator were action packed and filled with both serious competitive swimming and great fun and laughter. An enormous vote of thanks to the parents for their support, the staff for their commitment and to the students who made the carnivals a joy to be at.
Zone and CIS representation came quickly on the heels of the carnivals and once again teams were involved. Age champions across the board and 4th place in the senior zone once again cements our College as a very strong force to be reckoned with.
42nd Street is not water based but it is well underway with its rehearsal schedule. Details to follow on ticket sales.
Whilst this has been a most productive term it has been tinged with great concern for those having lost so much in the Victorian bushfires and the floods in Queensland.
Through a huge number of little activities, and some not so little, we have raised in the region of $7000.00 to assist in the support of the Sydney Anglican Diocese and their placement of counsellors and workers in the bushfire regions.
I have been inspired by the suggestions and motivation of so many students and staff, each encouraging each in turn. My thanks to all for such generosity.
Easter is at hand and our thoughts turn to the relationship we can enter into with Jesus through His death and resurrection.
Our service is on Monday 6th March at 7.30pm in the Auditorium. Please come along and join us, stay for tea or coffee and find out a bit more about what the Easter message really is about.
