The Week that Was!
So many things happen in the course of the school week that it is hard to hold them all in the mind together. Maybe this Blog will be good for me - that is, it will allow me to jot them down as they occur, and not hope that I can remember them when it comes time to sum up the week that was.
Some of you will have been missing Mr Webb over the last week or so. He has been most unwell, with an infection that does not want to go away. Someone very close to him (ie, Mrs Webb) has described him as both a caged lion and a bear with a sore head. The thought of Mr Webb as a caged lion with a sore head as he waits - impatiently, I presume - for the infection to pass is not a pretty one. Get well soon, Mr Webb.
You will have noticed that Mr Greg Peisley, the pastor of the Arndell Community Church, has been acting as the rector of the Pitt Town parish since Rev John Gaunt moved to Blackheath some few weeks ago. It has now been announced that Greg will be taking on this role in a permanent capacity. WAIT! - this does not mean that he is leaving us, but that our community church is joining the Pitt Town parish and that we now have one local church, with us as a key part of the operation. There are countless new opportunities for us all in this venture, and on behalf of us all I congratulate Greg on this development, hope it brings him great joy rather than great numbers of grey hairs, and look forward to many happy years of close co-operation with all that goes on in this new, expanded Pitt Town parish.
Parents and friends of Arndell have opportunities to be involved in the life of the school on a daily basis. There are so many ways to join in. Why not sign up for the golf day? Or come and marvel at the HSC showcase on Friday night of this week? Or go along to Homebush for the Hills Zone athletics on Monday next? Or get in quickly and buy your tickets for the Dance Spectacular, which promises to be an unforgettable evening? You could in fact do all of the above! - but I do hope to see you at one or two of these events, for they are events that show off the school to best advantage, let the whole community see the marvellous things that our students, of all ages, can achieve.
Thank you to the huge number of parents and other members of the school community who have taken the time to express to me their concern for the health of Mrs Goddard at this time. Your thoughts and your prayers mean a great deal to both of us, for it is good to know that we are supported by the community in such a broad fashion.
Have a great week - or next few days - until I remind myself to blog again. It seems like a great way to stay in touch!
